Lock in, my friend. Don’t say “Thiel is connected to Vance”. Say “Thiel has entirely funded Vance’s political career”

I do make that statement a little more boldly in some of my other “tech bro” articles! You are right on the money.

It was only a matter of time before Musk felt those bus wheels rolling over his back. His doom was sealed when he couldn’t buy the Wisconsin Supreme Court seat for Trump. That, along with Trump’s sinking poll numbers made this outcome all but inevitable. He is no longer useful to Trump.

I’ve worked disasters in the past as a contracted disaster home inspector for FeMa.

The job was to continually attempt to make contact with the client, set appointments and visit to inspect. The initial contacts were often difficult as we needed to use electronic communication as 1st methods and often these were compromised. If that didn’t work, then drive by the properties to take a picture and leave a note.

One customer sticks out in my mind. An elderly lady that lived alone. She lived in a rural area, so they were always the last served.

When I got through to her she was elated to talk to someone/anyone. But was difficult to get to focus on my task of making an appointment. She just kept saying “what happened, I have to know what happened”, “my electric has been out for 33 days and I couldn’t get my news (Fox News). I assumed she meant the disaster, so I started talking about the storm and damages. She said “no what happened with the hordes at the border coming to kill us?” Uh mam, I’m not allowed to talk about politics. She said “what’s hordes of people trying to kill us got to do with politics?” Uh mam I guess you’re right, that has nothing to do with politics, except that Fox News was lying about the hordes at the border, now do you want to discuss your property damages.

“Oh never mind yall are too late anyway, we take care of ourselves. I’ll just turn on Fox News to see what’s what”

Wow. That is absolutely terrifying. What they have done with Fox News is absolutely evil! That is a really powerful story. Thank you for sharing.

My concern is that there are people in the US who want someone who will promise easy solutions to hard complicated problems. Yet the reality is that tough problems are rarely, if ever, solved with simple solutions. Finding someone to blame is always the plan of tyrants, yet if trump chooses musk as his fall guy, we need to accept the fact that musk is a willing participant, as he has his billions to fall back on. Oligarchs make certain that their nest egg is already in place.

In the event that musk is not the fall guy, no problem, as trump can always find easy targets for his MAGA Mafia minions to blame. Those targets, however, have no nest eggs for security. Immigrants, even those here legally, will be among those with a bullseye painted on them, because many of the MAGA Mafia are racists. This should not be surprising, as trump himself is a racist.

They are tanking the economy so their rich buddies can buy everything for cheap AND so business pledge their loyalty to Trump for aid.

Excellent points, well made. And may I suggest, for companion reading, George Orwell: 1984 and Naomi Klein: The Shock Doctrine.

Your assessment of the Yarvin/Thiel/Vance alliance seems right on, but I think their goal isn't authoritarianism arising out of chaos--it's a Putin-style oligarchy arising out of an economic collapse that enables them to take control of vital industries and companies. I'm hoping they're making a fatal miscalculation. The U.S., for all its faults and failings, is still the only nation created out of an idea--not a common culture--and that idea is founded on autonomy--both individual and national. Unlike the people in countries you mention, Americans don't have a history of authoritarianism so it's not something to fall back on when times crazy; we have flirted with it, but never lived under it. I'm hoping that that is the case now. My mother, who escaped Nazified Austria in 1938 with the help of American friends there, said that Americans could often act like complete idiots, but when they were needed, they could be counted on, 100%. I'm so hoping she was right.

I think you fell for the smokescreen. I think DOGE and Elon were just distractions while Elon had his hackers put damaging code on our Government systems for a nefarious purpose later. When it all crashes we will know why.

We need to tie the two together as one. Make this the message- The Trump/ Musk Regime change on America! Then, when that is our message, the only ones blaming Musk will be Putin and Trump. No sane person on earth will believe their lies!

"The buck stops here", was a saying on Harry Truman's desk when he was president. I am sure the POS colt will blame anyone but their savior. However when you're the head cheese all roads lead to you. And we all know that Musk would not have been installed without Trump's blessing.

He may also set up Jerome Powell as his foil. He posted a truth social post today in between golfing.

He will say it’s because Powell didn’t lower interest rates, etc.
